A Living Room for Our Dreams / Exhibition Installation

The aim of the project is to build the stand for exhibiting the work done by TJAD, CAUP and TJUPDI. The idea was clear: to create an attractive focus, a suggestive element, which would seduce visitors to enter without any information of the interior. Once inside, and isolated from the noisy environment, a special display of furniture, table-lamps with models and drawings, would transport our guests’ imagination to more pleasant, friendly, dreamed cities. Given the type of the event, we had to assume a very important constraint: very short installation time for such a large area. The construction was solved with a modular system of 2x4 m2 and 2x2 m2 panels, composed by a steel frame and a double skin of elastic-translucent white fabric. Two steel rings made the structure stable.
